Food for Soul aims to provide basic human needs, increase well-being and accelerate opportunities for social mobility and economic growth through partnerships, programming and professional training courses.
Our programs aim to build a more sustainable and inclusive food system by increasing food access, reducing food insecurity and raising awareness around the social and environmental impacts of waste.
By building community spaces where our guests rediscover the potential of food surplus and feel that they are part of a community, Food for Soul aims to stimulate social progress, enable food solidarity and strengthen resilience. So far, in collaboration with our operating partners, we have successfully launched four Refettorios and three Social Tables worldwide.

Our food model aims to reduce food loss and waste while providing immediate hunger relief and the social infrastructure to achieve food security for all. From responsible consumption campaigns and food waste education, to Refettorio projects ongoing food recovery and nutritious food assistance, we are helping creating change. We emphasize the value of the UNESCO Mediterranean diet, planet friendly meals and Good for People & Planet Double Pyramid to help guide our food procurement, menu planning and consumption behaviors.
These actions help advance the UN Sustainable Development Agenda taking action on Goal 12.3 Responsible Consumption and Production, Reducing Food Waste by Half by 20230.

At the table and in communities around the world, Refettorio partners are preparing nourishing meals with hospitality and dignity, both served around a convivial table inside the iconic cultural hubs and distributed out into the community with the support of allied solidarity partners.
