New website design by Bunker
With spring comes change and here at Food for Soul we are ready to embrace it. Thanks to a partnership with Bunker, an independent visual design studio based in Modena, we decided it was time to shake up our website and refresh our visual identity.
Our logo was the first step. By using brighter colours and fewer lines, Bunker understood our need to communicate how much we have changed and grown since Food for Soul was founded in 2016. We are now more realistic about the challenges that we face, but also more determined to take the opportunities that cross our path. By working with different partners and learning from our mistakes, we are improving our projects making them more inclusive and sustainable. The fonts, kindly donated by Cast, a group of Italian type designers, add a unique touch.
Part of the impetus for a redesign was the desire to be more accessible and to communicate the work that we do more effectively. On the new website, designed and developed by Bunker, you can now find information about our mission, our core principles, and the impact that our work is having. You can also learn more about the different ways to get involved. If you want to volunteer in one of our project or you are interested in becoming our next Operational Partner, this is where you can find the information you need.
You might also notice that we have introduced a range of new content to the website, including a News and Stories section. We plan to use this space to provide you with updates from our Refettorios and Social Tables, talk about ideas that inspire us, and share the stories behind the projects. We hope this way, to create a virtual space where our community of partners, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, artists and chefs can grow and be inspired.
The new website boasts a clean design and a fresh and intuitive look. The pages are easy to navigate, whether you are at your desk or on the move and you can share the content with your networks by using the social media icons at the beginning of every page. Sole Serif and Arzachel, the same fonts used for the logo, were designed respectively by Luciano Perondi and Riccardo Olocco. They make the content accessible and easy to read while giving the pages an uplifting look and feel.
2018 already looks amazing for us, and this is just the start. Stay tuned!
Would you help us create a socially inclusive world where no food is wasted, communities are food sufficient and have the tools to thrive?
